Watercolor Workshop at Jasmuiža Manor
On October 19th at 11:00, at the Rainis Museum 'Jasmuiža' (Aizkalne, Preiļi district), a watercolor workshop 'Meadow Flower Discovery' will take place, where visitors will not only learn about Rainis' favorite meadow flowers growing at 'Jasmuiža', but also master the art of drawing flowers in watercolor.
The correspondence between Aspazija and Rainis consists of almost 2500 letters, and alongside the letters, a significant part comprises news written on postcards. Aspazija used postcards not only for communication with Rainis, her friends, and acquaintances, but also collected them in albums.
Meanwhile, Rainis has been a keen observer of nature since childhood, noticing the subtle changes and nuances of the seasons in the plant kingdom. This love for nature accompanies him throughout his life. Various flowers, mainly meadow and rural flowers, familiar from childhood, are often found in Rainis' poetry.
This time, 'Jasmuiža' invites you to learn to draw your own special postcard in watercolor, using one of Rainis' favorite meadow flowers for its illustration. No special skills are required. All materials will be provided by the museum.
Before the workshop, visitors will take a walk in the 'Jasmuiža' park and learn about the meadow flowers growing at 'Jasmuiža'.
Participation fee: 2.00 euros.
Mandatory registration by October 18th via phone: 29487589 (Anita).
