Anna's Day – Hostesses' Day 2025

On July 26th from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM, Anna's Day – Hostesses' Day 
At the Babīte Cultural Education Center (Piņķi, Jūrmalas Street 14A) 
The market will operate from 9:00 AM. 
From 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, as part of the event “Anna's Day – Hostesses' Day” at the Babīte Cultural Education Center in Piņķi, Jūrmalas Street 14A, there will be an educational lecture “Breakfast with a Specialist”, where everyone will have the opportunity to ask questions to the nutrition specialist and cardiologist, Matīss Linde, as well as learn more about the prevention of endocrine system diseases.

“True Latvian Hostesses” from Zemgale, Vidzeme, Latgale, and Kurzeme will showcase their culinary skills and surprise with their hospitality and costumes and flavors characteristic of their regions, reinforcing Latvian culture, the values of our land, and what we can be proud of and what makes us strong. Everyone will have the opportunity to taste each hostess's dish, typical of her represented region. Interested parties will also have the chance to learn about herbal teas, medicinal plants that can be used in various dishes, handicrafts, recipes, and many life wisdoms. The folklore group “Dāre” from Daugmale will perform.  

Hostesses you will be able to meet at the event include Silvija Čurkste (operates in “Lielie Kupri” of Aronas Parish), Ilze Briede (operates in Brantu Manor), Ināra Mālkalne (represents the farm “Blūdži” in Sesava Parish, Jelgava County), Kitija Švīgere (active in Kandava), and Ināra Zadaua (hostess of Ziedkalni House in Ogre County).
