“Austrasdienas” 2024

Various cultural centers and entertainment venues tirelessly ensure that events in Riga never cease, and the Cultural Center “Iļģuciems” is no exception. This year, on March 16, the Austras Pumpures-inspired song festival “Austrasdienas” will take place there. The festival is held every March, bringing together Austrasbērni of different generations who perform their own creations, as well as songs by Imants Kalniņš and Latvian folk songs.

“Austrasdienas” has been taking place for over 30 years now – in Liepāja, Riga, and, if invited, in other Latvian cities as well. This year, several concerts will also be held in different locations – in Liepāja from March 8 to 10, in Riga on March 16 at the Cultural Center “Iļģuciems,” and on March 17 at the Staburags Community Center.

The concerts will bring together Austrasbērni – students, friends, and like-minded individuals from Liepāja, Riga, Līgatne, and other places in Latvia. Performances by Arnis Miltiņš, Laine Ligere-Stengrevica, Uldis Ozols, Kristīne Locika, Kristaps Sudmalis, Jānis and Dace Vītoli, Vita Krūmiņa, the band “Jumis,” Simona Rača-Rūce, Jānis Rūcis, Inese Muižniece, Uldis Šēns, Vita Dambe, Nora Ķibilda-Kinna, Melisa Kaškura, and many others are scheduled.
