September 13, 6:00 PM at the Latgale Embassy GORS, in the small hall.
This year, the world celebrates the 340th anniversary of three baroque geniuses - Bach, Handel, and Scarlatti. The program is not only dedicated to these composers but also invites listeners to experience the metamorphoses of their music during the Romantic era. Johann Sebastian Bach's well-known but somewhat forgotten Italian Concerto in Latvian concert halls will be performed, along with Ferruccio Busoni's romantic fantasy on Bach's Chaconne from the second violin partita, as well as Domenico Scarlatti's experimental miniatures, which stand out for their unusual innovation for the time. The second part of the concert features George Frideric Handel and his first suite in B-flat major in both its original sound and in the monumental variations by the German genius Johannes Brahms on the theme of this suite.

Concert Program:
Giuseppe Domenico Scarlatti - Three Sonatas for Piano
Johann Sebastian Bach - Italian Concerto in F major, BWV 971
Ferruccio Busoni/Johann Sebastian Bach - Chaconne from the Violin Partita in D minor

---

George Frideric Handel - Suite in B-flat major, HWV 434
I Prelude
II Sonata
III Aria. Johannes Brahms - Variations on a Theme by Handel, Op. 24
IV Minuet. George Frideric Handel/Wilhelm Kempff - Minuet from the First Suite in B-flat major, HWV 434
