“Čaks. Wilson. Mirrors of Imagination.”
A poetry performance by Mārtiņš Wilson, showcased on Wilson's home veranda in Upesgrīva under the title “Čaks in the Peace of the Countryside on Wilson's Veranda”.

Over time when people kiss…
In creating the performance, Mārtiņš Wilson has selected poetic lines from several poetry collections, all of which, just like in life, are rooted in love in one way or another.
Mārtiņš says: “I want to take the audience away from the rush and routine. To encourage thinking about time, values, and love. I want to emphasize A. Čaks's contribution to Latvian love lyrics. I am confident that the poetry performance 'Čaks. Wilson. Mirrors of Imagination' reveals not only Čaks as a poet of love but as a sensitive master of words who has embedded his experiences and life in his poetry. I have chosen the poetry that resonates within me.”
The evening's musical arrangement is in the hands of Mārtiņš's voice and guitar.
The event lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until poetry-inspired conversations unfold.
This poetry performance can surely be called a favorite among audiences!
For his Čaks-like contemplations, Mārtiņš Wilson has been awarded twice:
In 2021, he was awarded the Aleksandrs Čaks Prize for a vivid and long-term contribution to the creation of Aleksandrs Čaks poetry performances and affirmation of the poet's creative values in the performance “Čaks in the Peace of the Countryside on Wilson's Veranda”.
In 2014, he received the A. Čaks Commemorative Badge for promoting A. Čaks's creative work.

Even today, just like then, clouds pierced by towers blush, coolness sits on benches in parks, while someone searches for three hours in their pocket for the only cent.
