Dopelord Concert
The name of the group is not unfamiliar to the audience in Riga, rather it has become a beloved choice for fans of the Polish stoner music scene.Dopelord is a stoner/doom quartet from Poland. The influences of the 70s music, cinema, and everyday life are what drive them in music and daily life.
“DOPELORD” released their debut album “Magick Rites” in 2012, which sparked their love for vintage heavy rock and proto-metal music to the world, a fusion that “The Sludgelord” hailed as “a massive unstoppable riff storm in every song”. In 2014, with “Black Arts”, the “Riff Worship & Weed” cult took a leap forward in songcraft, and as the band became more serious and recognizable, they started touring Western Europe. The critically acclaimed 2017 album “The Children of the Haze” with psych-sludge elements, was praised by “The Heavy Chronicles” as perfect: “Nothing will be the same as before. It used to be smoke, now it's Dopelord.”
Their fourth album, "Sign of the Devil,” was released on March 10, 2020, just as the Covid-19 pandemic swept the world, questioning humanity's envisioned future. Confident in their infectious roar and thematic exaggeration, DOPELORD presented a recording that more fully than ever balances both melody and heavy iconoclasm. On October 6, 2023, their fifth album “Songs for Satan” will cement the powerful quartet as one of Europe's heaviest and most reliable modern-day doom seekers, shattering everything in their path under the flag of “Blues Funeral Recordings”.
