Jazz Evening "Latvian Fish"
We invite you to an unusual, unforgettable, and untamed event. A jazz evening with the band UZVARAS BULVĀRIS in the historic A. Zēbergs malt factory area on September 3rd at 19:00.
“Perch”, “Pike”, “Chub”, “Zander”, “Trout” – these are the names of each of the five parts of the jazz octet suite “Latvian Fish”, composed by the new talent Miķelis Dzenuška.
The author explains: “The approximately hour-long composition for the band UZVARAS BULVĀRIS was conceived as a fusion of my two greatest passions – music and fishing. Each part of the piece characterizes a specific fish species. Stylistically, the suite is very diverse – using the language of jazz and funk music, the grandeur of academic sound art, and my characteristic elements of humor and irony, I have consciously created the opus to be as “democratic” as possible, hoping to reach a wider audience.”
