Song Program "Echo"

Singer Edgars Ošleja will perform at Alūksne Cultural Center on September 27 at 19:00 with Raimonds Pauls' song program "Echo".
With a new concert program "Echo" and an album of the same name, maestro Raimonds Pauls and the talented opera bass Edgars Ošleja have reached listeners with both already popular and previously unheard compositions.

It is well known that the maestro has a special ability to discover new talents and make them known to a wider audience. Although Edgars Ošleja's name is already well known to Latvian opera enthusiasts, the singer is debuting in pop music for the first time.

"Edgars Ošleja is a talented singer whose main work is opera. However, I have never divided music into major and minor. If there is a great melody, it deserves to be sung! Therefore, in the new concert program, I have included already known compositions that, thanks to Edgars' vocal material, sound their best," admits the maestro.

Compared to ten years of experience in opera music, the pop music genre is a new challenge for Edgars Ošleja. "A concert program created by maestro Raimonds Pauls is a huge honor for me, allowing me to look at music from a different perspective. Trying my voice in pop music is something completely new – a different rhythm, a different style. The world's experience has already shown that often the boundary between opera music and the pop genre disappears," the singer believes.
