Felting Workshop at Jasmuiža

On August 30 at 1:00 PM, a felting workshop will be held at Rainis Museum “Jasmuiža” (Aizkalne, Preiļi Municipality), led by textile artist Līva Kaprāle. Her textile art exhibition “This Is Who I Am” can be viewed at the museum until August 31.

Rainis's sister Līze was an excellent craftswoman, which is why this year the traditional crafts and cultural house “Jasmuiža” is hosting the “Līze’s Craft School,” where various unusual as well as well-known handicraft skills can be learned.

Concluding the exhibition “This Is Who I Am,” the museum will host a felting workshop led by the exhibition's artist, textile artist Līva Kaprāle. Under her guidance, each workshop participant will have the opportunity to create their own special bag or purse.

Textile artist Līva Kaprāle graduated from Ogre Art School, the Textile Design Department of Riga Design and Art School, as well as the Master's program in Textile Art at the Art Academy of Latvia. She spent a year studying at Vilnius Academy of Arts as part of the international “Erasmus” program. Since 2012, she has been a member of the Latvian Textile Art Association, has held solo exhibitions, and participates in group exhibitions both in Latvia and abroad.
