On July 11th, the winner of “Latvijas Sirdsdziesmas 2024”, Javier Fernandez, along with his musical group “Los Nens” and Latin American colleagues, will visit Pegaza Pagalmā to offer the audience a vibrant concert program “Greetings from Madrid”.
This will be a musical journey featuring rhythms from Spain and Latin America, combining authentic Latino sound with thoughtful dramaturgy and vivid arrangements.
In the first part of the program, the group will introduce popular songs from various regions of Spain that hold a special place in Spanish culture and are an integral part of family celebrations. There will be traditional Spanish folk music, soul, as well as Catalan rumba and flamenco.
The second part will be dedicated to Latin American music – we will hear Cuban salsa, Mexican bolero, cha-cha-cha, cumbia, son, as well as songs from the “Buena Vista Social Club” repertoire. The program also includes cover versions of popular Spanish and Latin American songs, including “La Bamba”, “Guantanamera”, “Camisa Negra”, “Nossa Nossa”, “Oye Como Va”, “Duele el Corazón”, “Tequila” and others. A special surprise will be songs in Latvian, performed by “Los Nens” in a Latin American style.
The group “Los Nens” has previously collaborated with well-known artists in Latvia – Jenny May, Ieva Akuratere, Inese Ērmane, and Linda Leen. In 2024, Javier, along with Inese Ērmane, recorded Imants Kalniņš's song “They Danced One Summer” in a Spanish mood, and this version won the show “Latvijas Sirdsdziesma 2024”.

– Aleksandrs Losevs (Latin American percussion)
Join us at Pegaza Pagalmā on July 11th! The concert starts at 20:00. Entry from 19:00.
Children up to 7 years old – free entry. Minors without adult supervision are allowed entry from the age of 16.
According to current regulations, a child under the age of 16 may not be in a public place during the night from 22:00 to 6:00 without the presence of a parent, guardian, foster family, head of the child care institution, or an authorized adult.
The event may be filmed and photographed. Photos and videos may be used for event publicity.
