Midsummer Celebration at Gaiziņkalns

Midsummer solstice – a magical time when the day is at its longest and the night at its shortest. The merging of human and nature. Therefore, this year on June 21 at 8:00 p.m., we invite you to the Midsummer celebration at Gaiziņkalns (recreation complex "Gaiziņš") with the participation of Latvian senior choirs. If you're still unsure where to go to celebrate Jāņi with friends or family, know this – Gaiziņš is a fantastic place with a wide musical program!

The concert will be filled with singing and good vibes from senior choirs:

"Pīlādzis" from Balvi

"Sarma" from Bauska

"Atvasara" from Krustpils

"Alaine" from Koknese

"Kamene" from Lielvārde

"Mantojums" from Madona

"Mežābele" from Smiltene

"Dziesmu rota" from Valka

"Baltie bērzi" from Valmiera

"Sudrablāse" from Valmiera

The concert will be enriched by Sarkaņi Crafts School's Ethnographic Instrument Ensemble under the leadership of Zita Gailīte, as well as a group of musicians led by Ilze Rijniece. 

After the concert – Latvian folk dances and a green ball with Ilze Rijniece's music group.

There will be a cafe operating. Remember to bring your own seating for a more comfortable concert experience.

The Midsummer celebration event is organized by Madona District Cultural Center in collaboration with Bērzaune Parish. Entrance is free.
