For the third time, the Ealing Symphony Orchestra from London will visit Cēsis, this time bringing with them three works that have not yet been heard in Latvia. The young Spanish composer Angela Luq has specifically composed a new concert for electric violin and orchestra for the orchestra and Latvian violinist Roberts Balanas, which had its world premiere in May. The work of film composer Laura Rossi, who resides in England, "Ada in Ealing" with texts by children's author Michael Rosen, was created in honor of the Ealing Symphony Orchestra's centenary and is inspired by the personality of the distinguished 19th-century mathematician (and daughter of poet Lord Byron; she is also considered the first programmer in history) Ada Lovelace. At the Cēsis Art Festival, the opus will be performed together with the voices of the united choir of Cēsis municipality. Meanwhile, the Grand Concerto Gastronomique by the 20th-century British composer Malcolm Arnold, recorded by the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra in 2021, will make its debut with Latvian audiences at the Cēsis Castle Park Open-Air Stage.
