The Song Gems of Imants Kalniņš

The new concert program "THE SONG GEMS OF IMANTS KALNIŅŠ" continues our journey of love in Imants' music - music that for half a century has continued to instill a healing light of spirit in listeners, providing strength and creating a truly human identity.

It simultaneously carries the seed of universal understanding and expresses a deeply Latvian mentality.

And just as pearls are found only in pure water, in their third Kalniņš song program, singer LĪGA PRIEDE and guitarist ANDREJS GRIMMS allow the music to resonate in a transparent, airy voice, with arrangements for classical guitar and piano.

The musicians' original vision further enhances the intimate, direct immediacy hidden in each well-known, beloved, old song: "Zālamans", "Astoņkājis", "Pūt, vējiņi", "Maijas dziesma", "Pa Misisipi kūģīt's peld", "Aiz deviņiem kalniem", "Es atradu tautasdziesmu", "Septiņi sapņi", all that wondrous music from old films, theater performances, Imants' group concert programs, songs that the listener knows almost by heart, will come alive, encouraging singing along, recalling the past, and pondering - where are we heading today...

Last autumn, Līga Priede and Andrejs Grimms, under the wing of the SKANI label, also released their joint album "The Quiet Songs of Imants Kalniņš". Līga's voice in various ensembles can be heard on many earlier albums of Imants' music, while Andrejs' guitar complements the sound of "Autobuss Debesīs".

The concert will be in 2 parts.

To leisurely enjoy the summer evening and the next morning with a delicious breakfast, visitors can reserve a room in the manor's hotel.

Before/after the concert - it is possible to stroll through the expansive and beautiful manor grounds, filled with the atmosphere of summer flowers.

During the event, filming and photography will take place. By purchasing a ticket and being present – the ticket holder consents that photos and videos taken during the event, without identifying specific individuals, may be published and used for publicizing information about the event.
