A full arena, including you, resonates in a powerful and harmonious chorus with the Queen song “Somebody To Love” - one of the most inspiring anthems of all time for the most beautiful gift we have! Is this a dream from which an alarm clock will soon wake you? No! It is Jacob Collier, who on July 22 will perform with his accompanying band at Xiaomi Arena.

On stage before us - Jacob Collier! A Londoner endowed with extraordinary musical talent, who with his almost unprecedented new versions of popular music classics of the century can truly captivate anyone, and at thirty years old has already received seven prestigious “Grammy” awards, which for Europeans is like honey to bees. Last year, Collier enriched the Positivus festival, but the dynamic open-air atmosphere in Lucavsala distracted attention, making many realize that this was not a concert to watch the clock to avoid missing the next scheduled artist's performance. Therefore, Jacob Collier - the guy with an unusually wide vocal range that spans four octaves and the skill to virtuously play with it, will return to Latvia this year, offering a solo concert of a great artist with a more extensive accompanying lineup. This is not to be missed!

Jacob recorded his debut album “In My Room” alone in his mother's study filled with many different instruments in the family home in London, recording all the vocals and instruments himself, arranging and producing. This album, mostly containing original works, brought the young musician his first two “Grammy” awards in 2017. One was for the arrangement of the famous main musical theme of the 1960s American animated series "Flintstones" with playful multi-voiced “a cappella” singing and a romantic cover of Stevie Wonder's song "You and I", where his own repeatedly recorded voice is almost the only instrument.

After an intensive two and a half years of worldwide touring, Jacob began work on a four-part opus of fifty songs titled “Djesse”, involving dozens of other musicians and an orchestra. The “Grammy” awards received for these recordings made Jacob the first British musician ever to receive at least one of these high honors for each of his first four albums. In 2025, he has already broken this record, receiving his seventh “Grammy” for the new arrangement of Simon and Garfunkel's 1970 song “Bridge over Troubled Water”, included in the artist's fifth album “Djesse Vol. 4”. Jacob has not lost his close creative connection with his mother, who participated in the recording of the latest album, conducting the Amsterdam jazz and pop ensemble “Metropole Orkest”, and played the violin solo in the first part of the extensive work “Djesse”.

Listening to Jacob Collier's voice, one might, of course, get the impression that like many other modern musicians, he uses “autotune” features, but this is not the case - everything heard is achieved with a natural voice or with effects tailored manually. Jacob is also known for usually performing on stage in “Crocs” because they are much more comfortable for him than shoes. All genius is incredibly simple. Of course, only if you are Jacob Collier.
