Midsummer Celebration in Riga 2024
Celebrations can be observed in many places in Latvia, but that doesn't mean that those who want to stay in Riga will have nowhere to go. The choice is quite broad right here in the capital.
Mežaparks.
On June 23, from 20:00 until sunrise, the Midsummer Eve event "Riga Green Ball" will take place at the Green Theater in Mežaparks, led by the duo "GraBulis" consisting of actors Andris Bulis and Gints Grāvelis. Dzegužkalns.
On June 23, from 20:00, visitors will also be welcomed at the oldest Midsummer tradition site. A special place at Dzegužkalns will be designated for the lighting of the Midsummer bonfire ritual, Latvian games, and dances.

Here from 20:00, one can play, dance, sing, make wreaths, participate in Midsummer traditions, play Līgo games, take part in sack races, engage in the log throwing activity, and even make the traditional Midsummer cheese on the lawn.
And, how could it be without music – the folk group "Kokle" invites you to games and dances, later performances by Elza Rozentāle and the ethno rock band. At 22:00, the Midsummer bonfire will be lit, and the Sisters Dimantas will take the stage with the program "Wake up, Midsummer day!" Performances will also be given by the musical ensemble "Viedais fonogrāfs", the group "The Originals", and just before sunrise – DJ Kaspars Zaviļeiskis.
On June 21, at Doma laukums from 9:00 to 17:00, there will be a Herb Market, where farmers and craftsmen from all over Latvia will offer their products on long tables and in booths.
A Year Market is also expected in Vērmanes Park – on June 21 and 22, as well as in Pļavnieki, where a cultural program is also anticipated. And, of course, the Herb Market at Imantas tirgū from June 21 to June 23.
