Jenny May will celebrate 20 years on stage with an anniversary concert

Beloved Latvian singer Jenny May has been delighting her listeners for 20 years. During this time, she has released several music chart-toppers, such as “Nāk nakts” (Night is Coming), “Es gribu vēl mīlēt” (I Want to Love Again), “Bez puišiem nevar” (Can't Live Without Boys), “Diskžokejs” (DJ), and many other popular compositions.

Celebrating 20 years in music, the singer will host an anniversary concert “Let's Take Off!” on September 21 at the VEF Culture Palace. Joining her on stage will be Jenny May's friends and colleagues: Normunds Pauniņš, Roberto Meloni, Nikolajs Puzikovs, Annija Putniņa, Horens, Kristīna Zaharova, Gatis Mūrnieks, Elīna Ose, and many others.

“I recently happened to listen to an interview with myself from 10 years ago. In it, I said: I feel like I'm just starting to fly now. Yes, back then I had just taken off and begun to fly. Over these years, I've flown a lot, both higher and lower. Sometimes even with battered wings. And in this colorful flight, I have found myself,” says Jenny May.

The musical enjoyment at Jenny May's anniversary concert will be enhanced by stage decorations – a hot air balloon installation adorned with flowers, inspired by a botanical garden in America.

“I want to create a fairytale atmosphere on stage and take the audience on an exciting adventure. It will certainly be a beautiful flight! A bit like Alice in Wonderland – only this time in Jenny May's Wonderland. The concert will be emotionally rich, just like life. You'll hear soulful, wild, and all-time favorite hits. I want people to soak up only the best emotions and feel uplifted. Together with my friends and colleagues, we'll create a magical atmosphere. I can whisper that there will definitely be someone on stage who isn't mentioned on the poster, but we'll leave that as a surprise.”
