Judith | Operetta
Judith and Octavio meet in an extreme situation, which throughout the story transforms into a "deadly" desert. The war, which Octavio is forced to join, intensifies the desperate fate of the lovers' passionate night of love. In this hopeless desire, a sensual, desperate yearning and erotic obsession with each other dominates, an overwhelming, horrifying longing for love as if trapped in a cage.
Judith is considered Lehár's best work, and it was also the composer's favorite. Therefore, marking the composer's 155th birthday, it is being staged for the first time in Latvia. For the first time in the history of musical theater - now also in Latvia!
The Lehár Festival in Bad Ischl (Das Lehár Festival Bad Ischl) is the largest operetta festival in Austria, and its diversity and quality are unique worldwide.
