Judith | Operetta
Judith and Octavio meet in an extreme situation, which throughout the story transforms into a “deadly” desert. The war that Octavio is forced to go to intensifies the desperate fate of the lovers' passionate night. In this hopeless desire, there dominates a sensual, desperate lust and an erotic obsession with each other, insurmountable, horrifying longing for love as if trapped in a cage.
Judith is considered Lehár's best work, and also the composer's favorite. Therefore, to mark the 155th anniversary of the composer's birth, it is being staged for the first time in Latvia. For the first time in the history of musical theater - now also in Latvia!
The Lehár Festival in Bad Ischl (Das Lehár Festival Bad Ischl) is the largest operetta festival in Austria, and its diversity and quality are unique worldwide.
