How is Contemporary Art Created?
On October 30 at 13:00, the Rainis Museum "Jasmuiža" (Aizkalne, Preiļi district) invites you to a walk, conversation, and activities at the museum "How is contemporary art created?"
During the event, guided by a curator, visitors will explore two exhibitions currently on display at the museum: "Nature - Synthesis" and "In Unison", learning the stories of art pieces and personalities. Although each exhibition focuses on different materials - porcelain and textiles - they also share something in common: both exhibitions highlight traditional craftsmanship in contemporary solutions and experiments.
The author of the exhibition "Nature - Synthesis" is ceramic artist Ilona Abdulajeva, and visitors will learn about her life journey - born into a family where handiwork was a given and honing skills was a matter of honor.
On the other hand, the authors of the exhibition "In Unison" are twin sisters Ilona Linarte-Ruža and Dace Pudāne, textile artists, and visitors will have the opportunity to closely examine textile art pieces.
In the second part of the event, there will be a workshop where each visitor can create their own creative work.
