Kaka and Spring
On November 3rd, at 14:00, visitors to the Cultural Center of Livani District will have the opportunity to see the play "Kaka and Spring". The play is based on the motifs of the book "Kaka and Spring" by Estonian writer Andrus Kivirähk.
It discusses important themes of a child's growth process – dressing, learning to read, relationships in kindergarten, etc. The selected stories in the play reveal connections in these events that a child may not yet see, such as warm clothing being an illness. "To learn something, it needs to be interesting and fun," says Ance Muizniece in the first play for children by Jānis Znotiņš – "Room Fables". With this conviction, the play "Kaka and Spring" was also created.
The play is not only beloved by the audience but also acknowledged from the perspective of theatre professionals – it received the "Players' Night" award in the 2015/2016 season as the play of the year for children or teenagers.
Director Jānis Znotiņš: "I create children's plays to playfully provide children with a meaningful hour where they learn something new through jesting. In my opinion, Andrus Kivirähk accomplishes this brilliantly in his stories – with provocative jest, he achieves a profound meaning about the order of the world."
