KARLSSON, a Musical for the Whole Family
Brālītis and Karlsson, who live on the roof, is an exciting story about the world of adults and childhood. It's about the diverse, colorful world of imagination in which we all live. The production - a musical adventure game called KARLSSON is intended for those who haven't forgotten their childhood, their dreams. So - all of us. As Ērihs Kestners put it: "For children from eight to eighty."
The essence of this theater production will be the relationships between the characters, their evaluations and willful actions. Who will surpass whom? Is a meeting of these two worlds possible?... Even in a game, in fantasies... In the game of life? Definitely! If both of these worlds are united by a dream. A dream that begins in childhood.
Karlsson is flying again and the adventures continue! Even if Brālītis' parents buy him a dog so he doesn't feel lonely, Karlsson is still a much better playmate because Karlsson is always ready for fun. The driving force behind the game and improvisation is to accumulate energy and joy for both the actors and the audience. "I want to have fun, otherwise I don't participate," says Karlsson. Get involved in mischief, fly, and have fun together with Karlsson and Brālītis!
"Karlsson is an attractive, witty play about the colorful world of adult and childhood imagination, with a mystery, as many have tried to guess the enigma of Karlsson - who he really is; is it Brālītis' imagination or a real being? This production is a good challenge for young operetta artists. As Ērihs Kestners put it - a true fairy tale book is meant for children from eight to eighty. We will also adhere to this idea in the performance," says director Valdis Lūriņš.
This musical adventure game for children is based on Astrīda Lindgrēne's musical motifs.
