"Carnival in Kandava"
On May 24th at 7:00 PM, the opening of the exhibition "Carnival and Folk Tradition Masks" will take place at the Kandava Regional History Museum. The exhibition authors are Sanda Sabīne Jaundaldere, Anita Saka, Evita Skrebinska, and Gunta Terēzija. From 10:00 PM onwards, there will be a drum show with Krister Hartman and a disco night with DJ Roberts Lejasmeijers in the old town promenade.
On May 25th, there will be fishing competitions, and the city will be awakened by a performance from a brass band, followed by the traditional festival procession. Following that, there will be a Harley Davidson motorcycle parade, a duck regatta in the Promenades stream, and various sports activities in the square near the model of the Bruņinieku Castle. Throughout the day, a wide cultural program will be enjoyed in the promenade. During the festival, the streets of Kandava will transform into a carnival stage, featuring colorful parades, musical performances, and various cultural events. There will be a year market with local delights, exhibitions, various activities, and events for children.
And, of course – in the evening, everyone is invited to a grand ball! Dance and music until morning! Wishing all visitors a successful festival and good cheer!
