Concerts in Museums Night
What would Museum Night be without concerts? Continuing the tradition, this year several museums affiliated with the Memorial Museum Association will host concerts during Museum Night, featuring music groups, choirs, folklore ensembles, music school students, and even an anticipated 'Poetry Midnight' with electronic music.
Ojārs Vācietis Museum (Riga, Ojārs Vācietis Street 19)
17:00–18:20 Literary musical performance. Featuring singers, musicians, and dancers from the Pārdaugava Children and Youth Center 'Altona'.
Andrejs Upītis Memorial Museum (Riga, Brīvības Street 38-4)
18:00–18:20 Performance by Artūrs Strautiņš, great-great-grandson of Andrejs Upītis, and singer Agnese Rakovska (music group 'Triānas parks').
19:30–19:50 Concert by the flute quartet of the Emīls Dārziņš Music School wind instruments department.
Rainis and Aspazija House (Riga, Baznīcas Street 30)
19:00–22:00 Concert by students of the Jāzeps Mediņš Riga Music Secondary School at Sētas House.
Jānis Akuraters Museum (Riga, Ojārs Vācietis Street 6a)
19:00 Concert by the accordion class of the Jelgava Music Secondary School.
Krišjānis Barons Museum (Riga, Krišjānis Barons Street 3-5)
19:30–20:00 Can you count the stars? Sing-along with the folk tradition ensemble 'Budēļi'.
22:30 Candlelit path from the Krišjānis Barons Museum to the Krišjānis Barons Monument in Vērmanes Garden. Sing-along at the K. Barons Monument.
Rainis and Aspazija Summer House (Jurmala, Jānis Pliekšāns Street 5/7)
20:00–21:30 Ancient music concert 'Musical Sketches' at the Friedrich's Great Court (18th century).
