Concert by Fontaines D.C.

The loudest and hottest post-punk band of the moment, with an indie edge, and simply one of the best concert groups, will finally perform in Riga - Fontaines D.C.

Since the band's debut, almost everything that predicted this group when they released their first album has changed, and their success speaks for itself.

All five band members met while attending the Dublin Music College. The band consists of talented members - Grian Chatten, Conor Deegan III, Conor Curley, Carlos O'Connell, and Tom Coll. They had all been in other bands before, but their shared musical chemistry convinced them to leave their previous groups and form a new band. They named themselves after a character from the movie "The Godfather," but soon they were legally challenged by a group from Los Angeles with the same name, resulting in them adding D.C., which stands for Dublin City and is a significant source of musical inspiration for the band. They organized their first tour back in 2017 after the release of their debut single "Hurricane Laughter." Their reputation and popularity quickly grew thereafter. The following year, more singles were released, all included in the band's debut album in 2019, "Dogrel," which received critical acclaim and a Mercury Prize nomination.

The band's latest album, "Skinty Fia," reached listeners in 2022 and became their first attempt to top the music charts not only at home but also in the United Kingdom and globally, which was very successful. The band is now embarking on a European concert tour, performing at major festivals, and on June 15, we will hear them for the first time in Riga at the Palladium concert hall.
