Concert "The Pasta Train"
For more than 13 years, Andris Sējāns has dedicated himself to enriching the repertoire of the children's vocal ensemble "Knīpas un Knauķi", quickly gaining recognition among other Latvian children's ensembles in numerous performances, concerts, competitions, festivals, and Song and Dance Festival events. "Knīpas un Knauķi" have endeavored to collect and preserve Andris Sējāns' songs for themselves and other children in Latvia - resulting in three colorful, song-rich albums - "Dziesmiņas ar desiņām" and "Mazo bizoņu dziesmas", as well as a CD with Latvian folk song adaptations "Ar vilciņu Rīgā braucu". Andris Sējāns' songs have brought much joy and excitement to the concert performance "Vilkam tāda dvēselīt'\'\'', sung by countless performers in shows involving up to 160 young and older singers on stages in Latvia, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and even China.
On this occasion, in honor of the composer's 45th anniversary, two Riga children's vocal ensembles, "Knīpas un Knauķi" and "Momo", have prepared premieres of Andris Sējāns' Latvian folk song adaptations in an acappella performance, and following the concert, together with friends - the children's folk dance ensemble "Dzintariņš" and the acappella group "Midnight Five" - they will sing and dance the most heartfelt, spirited, energetic, acclaimed, and beloved songs created in the past two decades. The concert will conclude with a beautiful surprise for all attendees - a splendid new choreography performance to Andris Sējāns' song "Ai, tu mana brāļa sēta", which premiered in spring at the "Balsis" children and youth vocal ensemble competition! This time, it will be performed by more than 150 participants.
Tickets cost 7.00 EUR. Children under 3 years old, if they do not require a separate seat, have free entry to the concert.
