Lāčplēsis Day in Ogre 2024
On November 11, in the torchlight procession of Lāčplēsis Day in Ogre, we will honor the fighters for Latvia's freedom.
At 6:45 PM, gathering at the Riflemen Memorial on the banks of the Daugava, at 7:00 PM the Lāčplēsis Day torchlight procession will start from the Riflemen Memorial on the banks of the Daugava to the Brothers' Cemetery, at 7:15 PM a solemn moment by the monumental Latvian flag.
With the onset of darkness, short films about people and events that have contributed to the opportunity to live in a free and independent Latvia will be shown on the building of the Ogre Municipality Council.
On Lāčplēsis Day, the city will be adorned with Latvian national flags, and with the onset of darkness, the Arch and suspension pedestrian bridges over the Ogre River will be illuminated in red, white, and red.
The event will be filmed and photographed. The material obtained may be used for publicity purposes.
