Event for Lāčplēsis Day in Valka
On November 11, Lāčplēsis Day, countless candles are lit across Latvia, commemorating the victory of the Latvian State Army over the West Russian Volunteer Army, also known as Bermontians, on November 11, 1919. Remembering this event, the fighters for Latvian freedom are honored on Lāčplēsis Day.

Around 17:20, the rake procession from the church will proceed along Raiņa and Rīgas Streets, briefly stopping at the monumental State Flag in Lugaži Square and K.Ulmanis Monument. Afterwards, the participants of the procession will head towards the Brothers Cemetery, the graves of fallen soldiers of Northern Vidzeme in the fight for Latvian freedom, located on Raiņa – Ausekļa and Rūjiena Streets, where at around 17:50, a Moment of Remembrance will begin.
