Juris Karlsons, RihardsZaļupe, and Marina Vidmonte – these are contemporary Latvian composers whosemusical testimonies of the era, under the direction of conductor Valdis Butāns, will be heardat the Orchestra “Rīga” concert dedicated to Lāčplēsis Day

The special event of the concert– Juris Karlsons' symphonic poem “Lāpa”, the premiere of which will resonateon the eve of Lāčplēsis Day in the spacious acoustics of Riga Dome. In this patriotically melodic composition, the composerreveals the rich sound of the wind instrument orchestra, imbuing it with the intonations of Latviansoldiers' songs; those songs that gave strength to fight for the freedom of the Fatherland.
