"Latvian Music for Autumn"

On November 2nd at 15:00, a concert program titled "Latvian Music for Autumn" will take place at the House of the Latvian Society in Liepāja.

This is the annual mixed choir concert by “Lauma”, featuring well-known and beloved compositions by Latvian composers such as Agra Engelmaņš, Imants Kalniņš, Raimonds Tiguls, Guntars Račs, Ainārs Virga, Kaspars Dimiteris, Ēriks Ķiģelis, and others, which have convincingly captured the audience's sympathies and become favorite repertoire in contemporary concerts.

The concert will pay special tribute to the composer Rihards Dubra, honoring him on his 60th anniversary. The selected songs will reveal R. Dubra's musical mastery and spiritual depth, while also affirming “Lauma” choir's respect for Latvian choral music excellence.

It will be an exciting and heartfelt celebration of Latvian music, where autumnal moods in nature and music will intertwine with traditional and innovative sounds, offering the audience an unforgettable musical experience.

The choir's singing will be enhanced by soloist Monta Vernava, musicians Ainars Pūpols and Ēriks Planics. The program will be complemented by the vocal group “Modus” with refined performances, and the generation of young musical talents will be represented by the children's vocal studios “Stari” and students from the Ā. Helmut's music class. The concert will be led by musician and creative individual Emīls Dreiblats.
