Latvia Orienteering Night 2025

During the European Sports Week on September 19th, we invite active recreation enthusiasts to participate in one of the most anticipated orienteering events - Latvia Orienteering Night. The event will be held in 21 Latvian regions, including Daugavpils, with the starting point at Daugavpils Draudzīgā Aicinājuma Secondary School (Aveņu Street 40, Daugavpils).

Participation in the 3-hour control time competition is free and in teams of 2-5 people, in the following participant groups:

● Open – no age restriction, at least one adult (18+);

● Women - no age restriction, at least one adult (18+);

● Families - at least one child under 14 years old and at least one adult (18+);

● Veterans - all aged over 55.

The competition will take place on the evening of September 19th, with registration from 6:30 PM, map distribution at 7:00 PM, and start at 8:00 PM. At the end of the event, a lottery will be held where all participants can win prizes from the event supporters. Registration for Latvia Orienteering Night will be possible online until September 15th at 11:59 PM.

Each team will be provided with one map made of waterproof material. It is important for the team to be equipped not only with a flashlight and reflective elements but also with a charged mobile phone with the mobile application QREvented downloaded, as checkpoint marking will occur by scanning QR codes. The application is available on Google Play and Apple App Store.

The event is organized by the Latvian Orienteering Federation, in collaboration with the Daugavpils City Municipality's Youth Affairs and Sports Department and the Orienteering Club "Stiga". The event organization is co-financed by state budget funds.
