“Field Day 2025” in Viļāni

On July 10, the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Economics and the Latgale Agricultural Science Center (LLZC), in collaboration with the Rēzekne Municipality, invite you to the annual “Field Day”. The event is intended for rural entrepreneurs and farmers to gain the latest information useful for the development of their farms. There will also be an opportunity to visit the crafts market, where various useful everyday products can be purchased.

“Field Day” will take place in Viļāni Parish, Rēzekne Municipality – near the A12 highway Jēkabpils–Rēzekne, approximately 3 km from Viļāni in the direction of Rēzekne (at the 3rd kilometer of the Viļāni–Rēzekne highway). The event provides an opportunity to explore the processes of growing and breeding various crops. Field Day will feature demonstrations in organic and integrated cultivation fields – the impact of green manure mixtures on winter wheat, the selection of grain and soybean varieties bred in Latvia, comparisons of sowing technologies, as well as project trials with cereals, legumes, potatoes, flax, hemp, and rapeseed.

“Field Day” is not only an opportunity to enhance knowledge but also to assess the suitability of crop varieties for Latvian conditions, meet like-minded individuals, and form new collaborations. Everyone is invited – both experienced farmers and those interested in learning more about agriculture.

During the event, there will be photography and filming, and the materials may be used for AREI or Rēzekne Municipality publicity.
