Lithuanian Poetry Evening
On September 2nd at 18:00, the House of Languages in Riga invites guests. Poetry Days are unimaginable without guests from other countries, and this time, Lithuanian poets will visit Riga.
The festival will host two excellent poets representing different generations - Antanas A. Jonynas (1953), a laureate of the Baltic Assembly Prize for Literature, and Austeja Jakas (Jakaite, 1994), a poet and book artist living in Austria. The texts of Antanas A. Jonynas have been translated by Jānis Elsbergs, who is preparing the translation of Jonynas's book in the series “New Classics”.
The poetry of Austeja Jakas will be heard in Latvian thanks to the efforts of Emija Grigorjeva. The event will include a conversation with the guests of Poetry Days.
