Līgo Festival in Jūrmala 2024

Jūrmala is joining the Midsummer festivities, providing even more options for contemplating where to celebrate Midsummer with friends and family. On June 23rd, we invite you to come and spend the shortest night of the year together and celebrate the Līgo festival by the sea at the Baltic Beach Hotel & Spa beach!

Joining activities from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the hotel courtyard (free of charge)

1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Activities with the Herbal Wife and Līgo tradition expert Līga Reitere
1:00 PM - 6:00 PM Cheese making, wreath weaving, sauna whisk making workshops

Līgo celebration by the sea from 7:30 PM to 2:00 AM
Festival traditions, delicious food, Midsummer bonfire, singing, ethnic dance party, entertainment program for children. Evening hosts - Pāvels Griškovs and Laima Sam.

10:00 PM - 11:00 PM Ethnic dance party. Games and dances with the ethno group “Ogas”

Throughout the evening, traditional Līgo activities will take place - singing, searching for the fern flower, beer drinking contests, and more.

Various festival events are expected throughout the day. A band will play music, dancers will perform, there will be opportunities to participate in workshops, as well as purchase handmade crafts. The special guest, the Herbal Wife Līga Reitere, will introduce Latvian Līgo traditions.

In the evening of Līgo day, the celebrations will continue on the beach, where we will light the Midsummer bonfire, dance, sing, and perhaps find a few “fern flowers” as well. The event host will ensure that every festival-goer's face is adorned with a smile, making everyone feel welcome and joyful. Fun and entertaining festival programs also await the little celebrants.

As Līgo festival is unimaginable without a bountiful feast, we invite you to enjoy both traditional Midsummer cheese and beer, as well as indulge in a variety of delicacies from the specially crafted Līgo menu. We will also offer a selection of specially grilled dishes that will satisfy every food lover.
