ROLE PLAYS. A Tasteful French Comedy | In Alūksne
The witty comedy “Role Plays” by playwright Éric Assous (original title “Significant Turns”), which has delighted audiences and critics all over the world, will embark on its journey to viewers throughout Latvia this autumn.
Pierre is a family man, a commercial director at a lens manufacturing company. While his wife and son are on vacation at a ski resort, the director decides to invite a young woman he met by chance at a bar to his home. In the prime of his middle age, he decides to taste the “forbidden fruit” for the first time, initiating a promising flirtation, but things do not go as planned, and the events and unexpected turns of that night will forever change Pierre's life.
“When staging plays, two things have always been important to me - outstanding dramaturgy and excellent actors. This time is no exception. I chose Éric Assous's play because the author masterfully handles the comedy genre, and, in my opinion, when there is an abundance of gloom around us, tasteful humor is something that everyone really needs,” says the show's director Intars Rešetins-Pētersons about the production.
