Over all that you all love:
Over money and clothes,
Over time where people kiss...

In creating the performance, Martins Vilsons selected poetry lines from several collections that, just like in life, are all rooted in love.
Martins says: “I want to take the audience away from the rush and everyday routine. To inspire them to think about time, values, love. I want to highlight A. Čaks' contribution to Latvian love lyrics. I am sure the poetry performance 'Čaks. Vilsons. Mirrors of Imagination' will reveal not only Čaks as a love poet but also as a sensitive wordsmith, who has embedded his emotions and life experiences in his poetry. I have chosen the poems that resonate within me.”

Even today, just like back then, clouds are pierced by towers, blush, coolness sits on park benches, while someone searches for three hours in their pocket for the only cent.
And then on the horizon, sadness sprouts... But life is as complex as it is short, to simply let it scatter in the wind.
 

The evening's musical arrangement is in the hands of Martins' voice and guitar.

In our home veranda in Upesgrīva, we invite you to enjoy peace, poetry, and the joy of meeting on June 29 at 18:00.
We will welcome guests with homemade cheese sandwiches and a glass of sparkling mineral water.

Before or after the performance, you can take a walk to the sea.
In cool weather, the event suits knits, shawls, and scarves to wrap in cozily.
The event is in a close circle.
Cats may also be present at the event!

A café will be open before and after the performance.

You will find us by entering: Rūķi, veranda, Upesgrīva in the Waze app.

The gates will open an hour before the start of the performance.

Cars can be parked in the home's yard.
The event lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, or as long as poetry-inspired conversations unfold.

For thoughtfulness akin to Čaks, Martins Vilsons has been awarded twice:
In 2021, he received the Aleksandrs Čaks Award for his vivid and long-standing contribution to the creation of Aleksandrs Čaks’ poetry performances and showcasing the values of the poet's work in the performance “Čaks in the Countryside Tranquility at the Vilsons' Veranda”.
In 2014, he was awarded the A. Čaks Memorial Badge for promoting A. Čaks' work.
