Morcheeba
On July 10th, the British trip-hop legends – the band Morcheeba, a London-based trio that became pioneers of trip-hop and downtempo, will perform at the Dzintari Concert Hall. They combine lounge rhythms, blues vibes, and, of course, the hypnotic voice of Skye Edwards in their music. Their music is the perfect soundtrack for a summer evening by the sea.
Over three decades, the band has released 10 studio albums, sold over 10 million copies, performed worldwide, and solidified their status as trip-hop icons.
Their 11th album Escape The Chaos is a 12-song journey in search of harmony amidst chaos, created in a warm, familial, and friendly supportive atmosphere. It blends an exquisite ensemble of live instruments, electronic sounds, and Skye's unique velvety vocals. The album's main single Call For Love is a slow, profound anthem about tolerance, support, and unity in turbulent times. The second single – We Live and Die, surprises with a combination of wind instruments, electric guitar, and powerful vocals, creating an almost cinematic sound.
The album was created over two years, with participation from the band's close friends and family members, adding even more sincerity and warmth to the music. The final track Escape The Chaos becomes the album's main message: to find peace within oneself despite the surrounding chaos. “Music will not bring peace to the world, but it can provide internal peace and healing,” says Skye Edwards.
These new compositions, as well as the band's beloved hits Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day, The Sea, Otherwise, Enjoy the Ride, and others, will be performed live in Jūrmala. Don't miss the chance to enjoy an atmospheric and captivating summer concert on July 10th at the Dzintari Concert Hall!
