Morica Festival 2024

This summer will be filled with many festivals and events. Where to go with friends and family? Usma in Ventspils district is a great place to visit to enrich your summer experience.

August 10th at the beach of Usma parish – “Morica Festival 2024”. Count Morica's visit and festival program on the shore of Lake Usma will entertain both young and old throughout the day. Early in the morning, the most passionate fishermen will gather for the “Morica Pike” fishing competition. The festival opening concert on Usma beach will feature the VPDK “Usma” and friends, with musical arrangements by PO “Ugāle”.

A tradition at the opening concert is the honoring of the most responsive Usma residents. Following the opening concert, there will be an interactive show for both young and old with the Liepāja Circus “Beztemata”. Throughout the day, there will be individual sports activities for all age groups, inflatable attractions, water balloons, SUP boards, creative workshops, horseback riding, boat trips on Lake Usma, and the Morica lottery or festival market. There will be various activities for adults, children, and teenagers.

During the day, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the traditional Morica fish soup. In the evening concert, join Katrīna Dimanta. The festival will conclude with a grand green ball featuring the band “VIA Sienāži”, Count Morica's farewell speech, and a salute at the end of Usma's time.
