Museum Night 2023
At the Jānis Akuraters Museum, there will be an accordion concert at 6:00 PM. Visitors will have the opportunity to create a midnight poem together and also see the express exhibition 'Creating Architects and Poets' Homes'.
At the Andrejs Upīša Memorial Museum in Riga, the opening of the textile miniature exhibition 'Sūnas' will take place at 7:00 PM, followed by a performance by the Mežragu Quartet at 7:20 PM. Visitors can also participate in the interactive game 'Save the Painting'.
At the Krišjānis Barons Museum, alongside an orientation game and exploring the history of Krišjānis Barons Street, there will be an hour dedicated to Ukraine starting from 8:30 PM. Participants can engage in an educational game, learn about Ukrainian poet Jurko Sadlovski, view the photo report 'Life During the War' by Igor Meščana, Director of the Social Protection Department of the Kiev Region, and sing Latvian and Ukrainian songs together.
At the Rainis and Aspazija House in Riga, there will be a workshop on herbariums at 4:00 PM for children and families to explore Rainis' beloved hobby. At 7:00 PM, there will be a concert by students of the Jāzeps Mediņš Riga Music School, and the museum exhibition and the 'Memories Artefacts' exhibition will be open.
At the Rainis and Aspazija Summer House in Jurmala, there will be an instrumental music concert titled 'From the King's Court to Today' at 8:00 PM, followed by the 'Nightfireflies Time' at 9:00 PM, which is a creative activity for families and children.
At the Rainis Museum 'Jasmuiža', this year they will focus on the correspondence between Rainis and Aspazija, inviting visitors to the event 'Rainis. Aspazija. Love Letters'. From 7:00 PM, visitors can participate in wordplay, paper casting workshops, and take a musical and multimedia walk through the 'Love Story of the Poets'.
At the Rainis Museum 'Tadenava', there will be workshops on making toys and creating poetry from 7:00 PM. The museum currently features the exhibition 'What Was Tadenava Like?'
Meanwhile, at the Andrejs Upīšs Memorial House in Skrīveri, the opening of the TLMS 'Rota' exhibition 'Linen - Not Just a Yarn' will take place at 6:00 PM. After the opening, there will be a concert by students and teachers of the Skrīveri Music and Art School titled 'I Have a Little Song'. At 8:00 PM, there will be a creative workshop 'Creative and Green'.
The Jānis Rozentāls and Rūdolfs Blaumanis Museum will open its doors at 7:00 PM until 1:00 AM, inviting visitors to explore the apartment of Jānis Rozentāls and his family, as well as the room of Rūdolfs Blaumanis and his 'foster children', and learn about the 'Young Writers' Hangout'.
A wide program awaits at the Ojārs Vācietis Museum, where there will be creative workshops for families, group poetry readings, a film night, and the beloved night concert featuring singer Anta Eņģele. The museum will be open until 1:00 AM and will also showcase two new exhibitions: the express exhibition 'Drums and Balalaika', which tells the story of Ojārs Vācietis, Ludmila Azarova, and music, as well as artist Sandra Strēle's exhibition 'Which Slanted in the Rain, My Fire, Which'.
