Museum Night 2025

On May 17, Museum Night 2025 will take place throughout Latvia. This year as well, all ten museums of the Memorial Museum Association will be welcoming visitors to enjoy concerts and movie nights together, participate in creative workshops, and view exhibitions.

Jānis Akuraters Museum

• 19:00–01:00 Exhibition in the Bright Salon: “Earth. Plowman.”
• 19:00–20:00 Concert by accordionists from Jelgava Music High School.
• 20:00–21:00 Laima Akuratere. Visiting Grandfather. Readings of Laima's essays in collaboration with students from Riga Catholic Gymnasium.
• 21:00 Jānis Akuraters. Mother's Wedding. Video story. Directed by Ināra Čakste, cinematographer Aldis Šenbergs.

Krišjānis Barons Museum

  • Introduction to the museum's exhibition “Small Things of Great People”.
  • “Valodiņa Dieva dota” – songs sung by the folk tradition group “Budēļi”. Sing-along.
• 20:30–21:30 “The Third is the CANE”.
  • Reading of excerpts from essays by Jānis Peters.
  • Revealed stories from the exhibition “Unknown Baron” about Baron's life journeys.
• 21:45–22:00 Candle path to the K. Barons monument in Vērmanes Garden.
  • Throughout the event, a Creative Workshop for children.
• Guided tours of the museum's exhibitions.

Rainis Museum “Jasmuiža”

• 20:00 The story of Rainis's inkwell. Preparation of invisible ink and writing mysterious letters.
• 21:00 “Oh! Jezup's Gang!” visiting Jasmuiža.
• 22:00 Express exhibition “The Story of Special Things”.
• Until midnight, viewing of museum exhibitions and displays.

Rainis Museum “Tadenava”

• 19:00–24:00 Visit to the exhibits;
  • Photo exhibition by Daiga Kalniņa “Celebration of the Sun”;
  • Exhibition “Rainis's Father — Krišjānis”.
• 19:00–24:00 How they managed in the 19th century – working with ancient tools (planing, sawing, making whistles, crafting toys).

Rainis and Aspazija House

• 19:00–20:00 Grieta Bramane and Marija Timofejeva on femininity – spoken poetry with guitar tunes.
• 20:00–22:00 Escape room “Witch Night” and creative workshops for children.
• 19:00–23:00 Story Trail – five spots to sit and listen to the real values of the museum.
• 23:00–01:00 “Deep Frequencies” – a moment where the space becomes a giant diary, inviting everyone to engage in intuitive self-expression on large sheets of paper. Low-frequency bass music by Toms Bumbulis will intertwine with quotes on overcoming creative barriers from Rainis's diaries.

Andrejs Upīts Memorial Museum

Andrejs Upīts Memorial House in Skrīveri

Ojārs Vācietis Museum
