Museum Night “Through Other Stories – To Your Own”

Rainis and Aspazija's summer house in Jūrmala, at Jāņa Pliekšāna Street 5/7, offers a special Museum Night program on May 17 from 7:00 PM featuring a concert, an escape room, a story trail, workshops, and a creative writing event “Deep Frequencies”.

At 7:00 PM artists Grieta Bramane and Marija Timofejeva will perform a poetry and guitar piece at their painting exhibition “Femininity”, combining poetry, visual art, and music in one space and moment. From 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM a story trail will weave through the museum, showcasing the museum's true values – the stories – at five stopping points.

From 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM there will be an open cat brooch-making workshop and an escape room “Witch's Night”, inspired by Aspazija’s poetry collection. From 11:00 PM to 1:00 AM in the main hall, a creative writing event “Deep Frequencies” will take place – the space will be transformed into a massive journal where everyone can indulge in writing, the flow of thoughts, or drawing on large sheets of paper. Tom Bumbulis’s low-frequency bass music and fragments from Rainis's diaries will be played. Museum Night events are free of charge, and the museum will be open to visitors all evening.
