Museum Night at Turaida Museum Reserve 2025

On May 17th from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Turaida Museum Reserve will open its doors for “Museum Night,” with this year’s unifying theme for all museums in Latvia being “Our Value Stories.” Visitors will have the opportunity to see two exhibitions, which focus on important values – the Latvian state and heritage preservation. This year, May 17th also marks “Church Night,” thus Turaida Church will be open from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Program:

7:00 PM – 10:00 PM Exploration of our value stories in the exhibitions “On the Road to the Latvian State. Tenant. Owner. Citizen” in the Tenant House, “Turaida Museum Reserve in Time and Space” in the magazine house, and Turaida Church.

Visitors can independently explore the exhibition “On the Road to the Latvian State. Tenant. Owner. Citizen” with the help of a worksheet prepared by museum staff, titled “My People’s Path to Their State.” It is especially suitable for children, who can explore the exhibition stories with their parents and seek answers to questions.

Meeting with museum specialists in the exhibitions will be possible throughout the evening.

8:30 PM Guided tour in Turaida Church led by museum reserve researcher Anete Jeņča.

During the evening, visitors are invited to explore two exhibitions. Next to the Tenant House, an outdoor photo exhibition from the museum’s collection “People and Work of Turaida Manor in the Late 19th/Early 20th Century” is on display.

In Turaida Church, the exhibition “We Believed – We Are” tells about the events of the Awakening period in Latvian church communities.

Next to the museum parking lots, the café – traveler's restaurant “Tourist” will be operating, where everyone will be greeted with warm drinks and tasty meals.
