On August 16th, at 8:00 PM in the courtyard of Dobele Castle, SHIPSEA's concert “In Warm Light” will take place, marking the 690th anniversary of Dobele's Livonian Order Castle. From the 830s, Dobele Castle was a place of residence, which transformed into romantic ruins by the 19th century, continuing to attract artists, writers, historians, archaeologists, and visitors today during various educational and entertaining cultural events. In 2020, the chapel of Dobele's Livonian Order Castle was opened, and the site has become a multifunctional cultural and tourism development center, known as Dobele Castle.
On August 16th, Dobele Castle will be open to visitors from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. On this festive day, until 6:00 PM, entry to the courtyard and the Castle will be free of charge. From 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, entry to the courtyard will be granted with a concert ticket; within Dobele Castle, you will find a special program dedicated to the festive day with an educational tour, exhibition, and informative games.
