Musical Community Picnic in Turki and Bread Festival

Turki will be filled with the aroma of bread, music, and togetherness!

On August 10th, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, we invite everyone to a heartfelt gathering in Turki, where we will celebrate the Bread Festival and enjoy the community picnic atmosphere with music, conversations, and delicacies!
Bread Festival – discover the mastery of bread bakers, taste different types of bread, and listen to hosts' stories and advice on ancient traditions and new techniques.

Musical journey:

• FK “Turki” Celebration – humor, songs, and a spirit of togetherness;
• Vocal and instrumental group “Dedze” (Augšdaugava Municipality);

Concert program “Meeting” – a special performance by actors Anna Klēvere, Egils Melbārdis, Ainārs Ančevskis, and composer Valdis Zilveris with beloved songs from theater productions.
Fill your heart with “If You Are With Me”, “No, I'm Not”, “Flower on the Dam”, and other melodies that have become part of our culture.

 Throughout the day – Tea House “Mežvīni” with homemade snacks, aromatic tea, and friendly conversations.

Creative workshop – create your own folk song pendant together with association “Ūdenszīmes” from Kaldabruņa.

 At the end of the day – a film screening with a movie from the Latvian cinema golden collection Jānis Streičs' film “The Child of Man” – a nostalgic and heartfelt conclusion to a special day.
