The Brothers and Karlsson, who live on the rooftop, is an exciting story about the world of adults and childhood. About the diverse, colorful world of fantasy in which we all live. The staging is a musical adventure game KARLSSON intended for those who have not forgotten their childhood, their dreams. So - all of us. As Erich Kästner formulated it: "For children from eight to eighty."
The essence of this Operetta Theatre production will be in the relationships, evaluations, and will of the characters. Who will surpass whom, outperform whom? Is the meeting of these two worlds possible?... Even in a game, in fantasies... In the game of life? Definitely! If both of these worlds are united by a dream. A dream whose beginning is in childhood.
Karlsson is flying again and the adventures continue! Even if Brālītis' parents buy him a dog so he doesn't feel lonely, Karlsson is still a much better playmate because Karlsson is always ready for mischief. The driving force behind the game and improvisation is to accumulate energy and joy for both the actors and the audience. "I want to have fun, otherwise I won't participate," says Karlsson. Join in rolling bread crumbs, haunting, flying, and frolicking together with Karlsson and Brālītis!
"Karlsson - an attractive, witty play about the colorful fantasy world of adults and childhood with a secret, as many have tried to guess the mystery of Karlsson - who he actually is; Brother's imagination or a real being? This production is a good challenge for young operetta artists. As Erich Kästner formulated it - a real fairy tale book is intended for children from eight to eighty. We will also adhere to this idea in the performance," says director Valdis Lūriņš.
The musical adventure game for children is based on the motifs of Astrid Lindgren's musical.
