Courtyard Festival with Andris Skuja in Sala!

On the last Friday of summer, August 29, at 7:00 PM, we await you in the grove behind the Sala Community Center for the romantic Courtyard Festival. This evening's musical adventure will be led by the owner of a velvety voice, Andris Skuja.

 

The singing astrologer Andris Skuja gained wider recognition after winning the Latvian song survey 'Old Cart' with the song 'Put the Cup by Your Lips' in 1992. This was followed by an active concert career, participating in various events both in Latvia and abroad. He has collaborated with various groups and artists, with the ensemble 'Gentlemen Invite Ladies', which included Guntis Skrastiņš, Žoržs Siksna, Dainis Porgants, Artis Robežnieks, and Raivo Stašāns, gaining more attention in joint concerts.

Thanks to collaboration with such outstanding producers, sound directors, and songwriters as Gaitis Lazdāns, Ungars Savickis, Normunds Slava, Juris Morics, Andris Grīnbergs, Gints Stankēvičs, Tālis Timrots, Māris Priede, and Iveta Priede, several solo albums have been released: 'Dreams', 'Crimson Sails', 'Darling, Don’t Rush!', 'White Orchids', 'Your Compass Wind', 'Crossroads', 'Riga – Rome – London'.

 

The Courtyard Festival – a leisurely Friday evening among friends and acquaintances or in romantic solitude. For a cozier evening atmosphere, bring a picnic basket and a blanket. If the weather is unfavorable, the event will take place in the Great Hall of the Sala Community Center.
