Pepija's Songs

On the 12th of November, at Ogre District Cultural Center, a fun show for children "Pepija's Songs" will take place.

Peppilotta Viktualia Rullgardina Krusmynta Efraims daughterLongstocking, or simply Pepija, Tommy, and Annika have been seen onvarious stages, in movies, and animated films multiple times. Also in 2002, when at the LatvianNational Theater the musical show “Pepija Longstocking” had its premierefeaturing composer Arnis Mednis' wonderfully captivating song cycle.

Almost everyone knows that Pepija is a girl with hairthe color of carrots and tightly braided pigtails on each side. However, onlya few remember that Pepija herself has created her quirky outfit - a dress adornedwith colorful patches, long socks in different colors, and Pepija's dad's South Americanbought shoes just a few sizes too big... Such a character is a joyto meet over and over again!

Stories about Pepija - a girl whose “mom is an angel and dada king of the negroes” - cannot be told without laughter and smiles! ArnisMednis in his music allows us to resonate with Pepija's exceptionally interesting personality!Supporting the composer, the Latvian Youth Theater will sing and perform this storyin the musical play “Pepija's Songs”! The concert performance will feature Ieva Sutugova,Miks Galvanovskis, Sandija Misika, Māris Skrodis, Jānis Kirmuška, and PēterisGalviņš.

The concert performance is intended for viewers from the age of 5. Each event attendeemust purchase a ticket.

The event is included in the program “Latvian School Bag”.Students can use state co-financing to attend.
