The Sigulda Concert Hall “White Grand Piano” will open its 25th anniversary season with a special program “SILK ROAD”.

The opening program of the anniversary season will be performed by one of the most masterful, original, and notable Latvian chamber ensembles, TRIO ART–i–SHOCK, whose unique combination of instruments is also recognized at the European level. The trio consists of pianist Agnese Egliņa, cellist Guna Šnē, and percussionist Guntars Freibergs. In the concert, they will be joined by Guntars Prānis, an interpreter of the hurdy-gurdy, a special medieval string instrument.

“The concert's title encompasses the 25-year history of existence and marks the future vision of the “White Grand Piano”. The Silk Road – like a delicate fabric of music, like an intangible musical journey, where sounds become the thread leading to music as the highest value. It is a mark of quality, a path for the listener to the musician, for the musician to the audience, for the score to the sound, and for the era to culture,” reveals the concert hall director Kristaps Kiršteins.

The created anniversary concert program promises several surprises. The audience will be treated to the music of Rihards Zaļupe, composer of the Oscar-winning film “Stream”. Works by R. Zahra, A. Šenderova, P. Vidāls, and M. Marais will also be featured. The creativity of Latvian saxophonist and composer A. Raumans will be highlighted. The concert, which will unfold in two parts, will be made special by the world premiere of the new, promising composer A. Avramecs.
