RAXTU RAXTI

This year, continuing the established tradition, “Raxtu Raxti” invites you to the national holiday grand concert on November 18th at the Dailes Theatre, in honor of Latvia's proclamation anniversary. These are not just celebrations for our country, Latvia, but also for ourselves, for each of us – because we are Latvia. This year has been eventful, with various affirmations of our belonging to our land and people, culture, and traditions. At the state holiday concert, together with the musical ensemble “Raxtu Raxti,” we will honor Latvia in song and dance, celebrate freedom, and strengthen our Latvian self-awareness.

Concerts will be held at 14:00 and 18:00.

“The Latvian holiday grand concerts have become an annual tradition for me, particularly expressed in recent years within the family context. “Raxtu Raxti” and our group of like-minded friends, through a shared creative process, truly allow us to experience splendid celebrations. However, the greatest satisfaction comes from realizing that, thanks to these concerts, my children learn to respect their land and culture, to listen and hear, to feel and empathize. I am always very gratified to meet families at the concert who understand that the future of our children in Latvia depends on each of us adults. If a tree puts down strong roots in its land, soon birds will sing in its green foliage. In this time and place, traditions are passed down from generation to generation – from our ancestors through us to our children,” says Kristīne Kārkle-Kalniņa.
