Jewelry Embroidery Workshop
On July 19, July 30, and August 22 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the Rainis Museum “Jasmuiža” (Aizkalne, Preiļi Municipality) invites you to join a jewelry embroidery workshop in the new event series “Līze's Craft School.” The workshop will be led by the artist Irēna Šteinberga from the design embroidery brand “Irena Gasha embroideries,” whose exhibition can be viewed at the museum from July 4 to August 31.
“Rainis's sister Līze was an excellent craftswoman, which is why this year we invite you to the traditional craft and culture house for “Līze's Craft School,” where throughout the season you can learn various unusual and well-known craft skills,” says museum specialist Anita Puncule, inviting you to the museum. The first sessions in this series will be with the artist Irēna Šteinberga from the design embroidery brand “Irena Gasha embroideries.”
“This meeting offers a unique opportunity to discover her creative journey. Learn how her embroidered works are made, revealing the beauty and technical mastery of craft art that Irēna has developed over more than two decades. In the workshop, Irēna will unveil the secrets of technical mastery, and everyone will have the chance to try their hand at creating embroidery, view and use antique beads and luxurious materials that combine old-world charm with modern elegance,” explains the museum.
The exhibition, which can be viewed at the museum from July 4 to August 31, showcases both jewelry and bags, as well as other crafts created with high technical skill, fine detail processing, and contemporary design. Particularly highlighted are works created while studying at the prestigious École Lesage in Paris – these vividly reveal Irēna's individual style, where antique and modern materials blend organically, contemporary vision and exceptional technical mastery.
The artist has gained international recognition, participated in significant exhibitions, and received awards in Paris, Milan, and Tokyo. Her works are found in private collections worldwide, and their demand is unceasing. The works on display at “Jasmuiža” are part of the artist's personal collection, which she preserves as a family heritage.
Participation in the workshop is free of charge.
