Autumn – Time of Ancestors

The Krišjānis Barons Museum (Riga, Krišjāņa Barona iela 3-5) invites you to the fourth session of the event series “From Jāņi to Christmas” titled “Autumn – Time of Ancestors” on October 26, from 11:00 to 14:00. The event is designed for Ukrainian nationals residing in Riga and locals to explore Latvian and Ukrainian seasonal celebrations.

During the event, participants will learn about autumn traditions in Latvia and Ukraine, sing Latvian folk songs together with the museum volunteer Ivan Meščans and the museum specialist Andris Ērglis. The second part of the event will feature a creative workshop where participants will discover Latvian ornamental symbols and their contemporary usage. The workshop will be led by Liena Teterovska.

All activities will be conducted in Latvian and Ukrainian, with translation provided by Ivan Meščans.

The sessions are free of charge, funded by the European Union within the framework of the Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund.
